Little Garden School exists to nurture the whole child through building a connection to nature while encouraging imaginative, creative play that will not only enrich the child's life in the present but will be a firm foundation as they grow.
Rooted in the Forest School ethos, our programs promote:
We believe that learning should be as dynamic and diverse as nature itself. Through unstructured play and exploration, children build lasting skills and a deep love for the world around them.
Little Garden School began in 2020 as a full time nature-based preschool. In 2022 we moved from Colorado to Kentucky where Little Garden School has grown into what it is today. We're thankful for an incredible community that has welcomed and supported all we do!
Our nature-based, Forest + Farm School model is the first and only program of its kind in Grayson County. We're grateful for the opportunity to pave the way for outdoor education and alternative programs in our community.
We've witnessed friendships bloom, confidence soar, and curiosity thrive as we explore the natural world through play. Our classes are hands-on, often times messy, and full of joy, benefiting both the children and caregivers involved.
At Little Garden Nature School, we nurture each child’s development through five core values, creating a circle of holistic growth. Through strong family partnerships, we meet children where they are, supporting their journey with care. Our approach is centered on inquiry-based, child-led learning, where exploration and play provide the foundation for growth, connection, and discovery. Together, we foster a space where every child’s unique path is honored and nurtured.
