Little Garden School exists to nurture the whole child by fostering meaningful connections with nature, inspiring curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning that grows with them.
Rooted in the Forest School ethos, our programs promote:
We believe that learning should be as dynamic and diverse as nature itself. Through unstructured play and exploration, children build lasting skills and a deep love for the world around them.
Little Garden School began in 2020 as a small, full-time nature-based preschool in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In 2022, we relocated to Kentucky where the program has grown into what it is today. We are deeply grateful for the supportive community that has welcomed and encouraged our work along the way.
Our Forest + Farm School model is the first of its kind in Grayson County and we’re honored to help expand access to outdoor, nature-based education in our area.
We’ve seen friendships form, confidence build, and curiosity flourish as children engage with the natural world. Our classes are hands-on, often messy, and full of joy for both children and caregivers.

At Little Garden School, we nurture each child’s development through five core values that support holistic growth. In strong partnership with families, we meet children where they are and support their journey with care and intention. Our approach is rooted in inquiry-based, child-led learning, where exploration and play become the foundation for connection, discovery, and growth. Together, we create a space where every child’s unique path is honored and supported.
